SVKM’s NMIMS (Deemed-to-be University), is one of the premier top private universities in India (Grade A+ accreditation by NAAC). About Sunandan Divatia School of Science
The Sunandan Divatia School of Science (SDSOS) is one of the schools of the prestigious SVKM’S NMIMS (Deemed to be University), in its efforts to diverge to various disciplines of higher education and learning. The SDSOS evolved in 2007-2008, with a view to provide undergraduate and postgraduates an opportunity to embark on a challenging, yet exciting domain of Pure and Applied Sciences. SDSOS offers unique multi- as well as interdisciplinary programs, viz, Undergraduate program in Applied Statistics and Analytics, and Biomedical Sciences, Postgraduate program in Statistics, Biological Sciences, and Chemistry; Integrated Post-Graduate-Doctoral program in Biological Sciences and Chemistry, and a Doctoral program in Biological Sciences and Chemistry.
As the degrees offered at the SDSOS are Research-based degrees, there is a major emphasis on ‘Research’ in all the programs. It is strongly driven by a highly qualified scientific talent pool. The R & D activities at SDSOS focusses on applied research at the interface of Chemistry and Biological Sciences.

"Biomedical Research Journal (BRJ)" is a premier peer reviewed open access journal, published by Sunandan Divatia School of Science, NMIMS (Deemed-to-be) University, Mumbai, for promoting interdisciplinary contemporary areas of Basic and Applied Biomedical Science. The goal is to share new discoveries and translational knowledge with scientists, academicians, clinicians and students in the field of Biomedical and Biological/Chemical/ Biotechnology/Stem Cell Biology/Cancer Biology in the realm of basic and applied aspects in the different areas.
BRJ aims at creating a platform to help advance the domains and frontiers of inter- and multi-disciplinary research across the various areas of sciences and recent advances in cross pollination across Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, Physics and Mathematics. Integrative science is the present and future of science, and the various aspects of the journal proposes to highlight and emphasize contemporary technology towards understanding various aspects of the sciences.
The focus areas of BRJ include review articles and original research papers in Cancer biology, Stem cell biology, Nanoscience and Pharmaceutical Science. A rigorous peer review process is implemented to judge the effectiveness, legitimacy and reliability of the research content. The journal is published biannually online as well as print copies.

Digital Archiving Wolters Kluwer Medknow provides for long-term digital preservation through two primary partnerships, Portico and CLOCKSS. Portico is a leading digital preservation service worldwide. The content is preserved as an archival version and is not publically accessible via Portico, but is provided when required under specific conditions, such as discontinuation of the collection or catastrophic failure of the website. CLOCKSS will enable any library to maintain their own archive of content from Wolters Kluwer Medknow and other publishers, with minimal technical effort and using cheaply available hardware. Ahead of Print policy Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Wolters Kluwer Medknow has a policy that changes will not be made after publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record. Advertisements While advertisements are crucial to this journal to be able to keep all content free for everyone, ethical considerations are in place to ensure the integrity of the journal and its content: - "Pop-up" and "banner" ads appear on a random, rotating basis. The advertiser has no control or input over the pages where their ads appear.
- The Editorial Board has full and final approval over the content of all advertisements.
- Advertisers will never be shown any manuscripts or other content prior to publication.
Biomedical Research Journal is an open access, peer-reviewed, bi-annual, journal that publishes the fundamental and applied research in the field of Biomedical sciences. Although it’s an open-access journal, Biomedical Research Journal does not ask for any Article Processing Charges. The journal is supported by SVKM’S NMIMS Sunandan Divatia School of Science and is published by Wolters Kluwer.
The scope of the journal includes:
- Basic, applied, or translational research studies in all biological model systems (prokaryotes and eukaryotes). At present, case studies, clinical trials are out of the scope of the journal.
- Molecular, cellular and cancer biology
- Biochemistry, Microbiology, Immunology
- Neurosciences
- Pharmacology
- Bacterial and Animal Physiology
- Contemporary and interdisciplinary areas of health and biological sciences like Nanoresearch and Nanomedicine, System biology, Biophysics, Computational biology are also within the scope of the journal.
- Reviews on active research topics, short communication, and letter to editor.
